Welcome to the LAUSD ITD Customer Self Service (CSS) web page. CSS is the new updated system that is replacing Employee Self Service (ESS). If you are currently registered with Employee Self Service System (ESS), you will have access to new CSS system. If you are a new user please refer to the Self-Registration section below.

We suggest that you bookmark this site for easy access to CSS.
Please make sure that you reviewed the CSS User Guide located in the Resources tab above before using this system.

Note: As of Friday, May 9, 2008, a new version of CSS (6.2.2) will be available. An updated user guide is now available. Go to the Resources tab above to preview these instructions.

Getting Started with the Self Service Request System

CSS system allows you to open a request into our service tracking system. Please be sure that you review the instructions relating to the registration and usage of this system. It will make your usage a lot easier and allow us to service your request faster.

The Self Service Request System can seem a little intimidating at first, but we believe that once you spend a few minutes becoming aquatinted with this new service, you will find some time saving benefits. For example:

  • The request you place goes directly into our system. This speeds the processing of your request. You will have a tracking number immediately!
  • You will now have a place to track the status of your requests. This means you don't have to call the Service Desk to request status.
  • You can review previous requests that you have placed.

Make sure you review the following CSS manual:
CSS User Guide 6.2.2

  1. What categories do I select if Im having network connection problems? Also do I have to enter the serial numbers for each computer?
    In the CSS submit a request form select the following:
    Category select Network,
    Subcategory Select Connectivity,
    Product select General Assistance and Problem type will be automatically set to Incident.
    You do not need to provide computer information if there are 2 or more computers in the same room that are unable to connect.
  1. If my computer is still under warranty can I submit a repair request to ITD?
    If you computer is under warranty please contact your vendor.

  1. Can I submit multiple computer problems on one CSS ticket?
    Problems relating to Laptops NO,
    You can however enter multiple desktop related problems on one CSS ticket if all the computers are located in the same room only.

  2. Can I submit multiple rooms with network problems on the same ticket?
    Anytime you have mutiple rooms with network related problems you can submit your request on one ticket.

  3. Can I submit multiple rooms with PA/intercom issues on the same ticket?
    Yes

  4. If the categories for my specific problem are not available, what do I enter?
    Choose the categories that most closely describe the problem.  If categories are not available choose any of the categories and we will modify it accordingly once we receive your CSS ticket.

  5. Are there restrictions as to the type of request I can submit over CSS?
    Please refer to the following document in contains a list of items covered by ITD: Some items are “fee for service”

    Please never submit any password related issues over CSS. For SSO/CSS password problems please call 213-241-5200 press option 4 submenu option 3. Enterprise application (IFS / PTRS) password issues call 213-241-5200 press option 4 submenu option 2.

  6. If I have a problem with a CSS CALL who do I contact?
    You can reply using the built in CSS update feature or call 213-241-5200 and have the CALL# ready.

  7. How do I change my CSS password?
    Click on change password on the left hand column after login in to CSS portal. Also refer to the following document for step by step intructions on updating your CSS Password.

  8. If I am unable to login who do I contact?
    Please call ITD Service Desk 213-241-5200 select option 4 then submenu option 3.

  9. Can I submit regular telephone problems through CSS?
    Only break/fix type issue and 3 or less voice mail setups and resets. All other issues please call the the Telecommunications unit at 323-224-2444
