On Monday, January 26, 2003 a new email worm called "MyDoom" or "Novarg" began rapidly circulating throughout the Internet. The virus affects Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/2003 Operating Systems. While the District has central anti-virus filters in place that delete infections from incoming and outgoing email, some District systems became infected before anti-virus signatures were available. As a precaution, please ensure your anti-virus signatures are up to date, and run a complete virus check on your system.
